What we are learning about in preschool right now
Right now we are learning about fairytales and nursery rhymes. So far we have read these stories:
The Three Little Pigs, The True Story of the Three Little Pigs, The Three Wolves and the Big Bad Pig,The Three Billy Goats Gruff & Goldilocks and The Three Bears. We graphed our favorite fairytale, did a Venn Diagram to compare two stories, tasted different kinds of porridge(oatmeal flavors) and graphed which one we liked the best, and acted out the story of Goldilocks and The Three Bears.
We are going to be learning about our favorite nursery rhymes as well. Some of the nursery rhymes we will cover are: Humpty Dumpty, Hey Diddle, Diddle, Mary Had a Little Lamb, Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star, The Itsy Bitsy Spider, & Peter, Peter Pumpkin Eater.
Next month we will be learning all about the farm. We will learn about farm life and the many animals on the farm. Our class will go on a field trip to the farm in Pawnee. We will hatch eggs in our classroom. I did this with my class last year and it was very exciting and fun to see the baby chicks. There will be many, many, activities going on in our classroom.

What we have been working on in our classroom
Anytime you walk into our classroom, you will see it is very busy. We are always busy at work and play. One of the art projects we have done are making pigs out of paper plates for the story, The Three Little Pigs. After reading the story The Three Little Bears, we will make bears. We will also be making humpty dumpty for the nursery rhyme. We will have a fairytale/ nursery rhyme day where all of the kids get to dress up as their favorite fairytale/nursery rhyme character. The kids will parade around the school and parents will join in on our fun filled day of many activities. Our kids will also act out a play for the parents.
